Editor’s Note: Review copy of Assassination Classroom Season Two, Part Two Blu-Ray received by Funimation Entertainment.
Assassination Classroom has been a well-received anime/manga franchise due to its likable cast of characters, wit, storytelling, and comedic know how. In a rather ironic turn of events the anime and manga end at nearly the exact same time, and because of this the anime was able to take advantage of having a canonical ending rather than a hazily put together anime only mess.
THE GOOD: Assassination Classroom is a truly one of a kind anime series for your viewing experience. It’s a comedic shounen type series from beginning to end, with heavy emphasis on both genres, and it’s actually a very hilarious series. Action sequences while not on a huge scale of say Dragon Ball or One Piece are still enjoyable enough to see and are quick so they never overstay their welcome.
THE BAD: The season season could have used some more episodes, perhaps even some OVAs to further flesh out certain characters.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Assassination Classroom’s anime adaptation will please most, if not all fans of the manga. It’s closing is enjoyable and perhaps more importantly canonical to the manga’s, and it’s a hysterical shounen series with some neat action pieces, and a likable cast. Otaku Dome gives Assassination Classroom Season Two, Part Two Blu-Ray a 88 out of 100.
