It seems fan-favorite producer Adi Shankar’s rap sheet is continuing to grow, as the producer announced today on his official Facebook page that he and Ubisoft are teaming up to bring to life an anime adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft previously had a live-action film starring Michael Fassbender as the lead released in 2016 to moderate reviews. While no story details have been shared, Adi may have made a subtle hint that the series could possibly take place within the initial entry’s story:
“I’m happy to let you guys know that I’ve selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.” said Shankar.
No network or other details for the series has been announced, Shankar is best known for the fan made mature film Power/Rangers based on the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, as well as Venom: Truth in Journalism, The Punisher: Dirty Laundry, and more recently the upcoming animated series adaptation of Konami’s Castlevania series which premieres on Netflix on this Friday on July 7, 2017.
