Microsoft announced that their newly revealed system the “Xbox One” will not have backwards compatibility. This means that those who wish to play their old 360 games will not be able to play them on the new Xbox One. This also goes for XBLA games. The reason is being that the Xbox One uses a different architecture than that of the 360, therefore they would have to remake all of the games, and Microsoft has not announced whether they would be willing to do that or not. On the bright side, one thing that carries over is your Gamerscore, so you won’t have to start over. More news is sure to be revealed about the Xbox One at E3.
