As previously teased during the week of E3 2017, Ubisoft has once again teased re-exploring the fan-favorite Splinter Cell franchise. This time going as far as confirming that a new entry has made it as far as the pitching process, with plans to pick up their favorite pitch. The last entry “Blacklist” was released in 2013. During an AMA on Reddit Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot stated that “Splinter Cell is a brand we talk about a lot. It’s also personally one of my favorite series. We don’t have anything specific to share at the moment but teams are working on different things, so stay tuned for more.” Guillemot continued his comments during a Ubisoft blog interview by saying the following:

“We are receiving lots of sketches and proposals around the brand, and we’re going to pick one up,” he said. “I think you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that.”

Given Ubisoft’s recent love of surprise announcements, if we’re to find anything about a brand new Splinter Cell game, it will be announced obscurely at E3 or some other press event. Ubisoft shocked with the surprise re-introduction of a seemingly mature rated Beyond Good & Evil 2, which is already playable to some degree. Ubisoft also recently teased possibly re-exploring it’s Prince of Persia franchise as well.
