Previously announced a few years ago, a sequel to 2004’s The Spongebob Squarepants movie will be hitting theaters soon. In fact it’s coming next February. In a press release Paramount has announced that Lino DiSalvo will act as the Creative Director of Paramount Animation. Alongside the announcement were the reveals of two projects Monster Trucks set to release next May, as well as Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water which will hit theaters February 15, 2015.

The sequel will once again be a mix of animation and live-action as it’s predecessor. Spongebob Squarepants has remained Nickelodeon’s highest grossing property since it’s original inception in 1999. Spongebob Squarepants is currently in it’s ninth season with it’s 20th anniversary coming up in a few years.
