It appears as interest in the Matrix resurfacing on the silver screen has begun to show. According to reports both Warner Bros and the Wachowski brothers have shown interest in reviving the multimillion dollar film franchise. These reports have even gone as far as stating it’s to the point that something has been green lit. The report is coming from Latino Review, who in the past has leaked major stories from the film industry, including the leaking of the complete original script of Michael Bay’s upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film reboot.

Latino Review states that the Wachowskis have made it to as far as writing and turning over treatments and outlines to Warner Brothers. It’s unknown if the Wachowskis will direct the film if it does indeed happen. Series lead Keanu Reeves’ staus for return is also unknown. Rumors of an Matrix reboot first began back in 2009 and have been appearing on and off since. Both Warner Brothers & wachowskis denied said rumors around those times.
