Usually when people think TNA they don’t give it much thought, these days TNA has, despite all the behind the scenes situation, slowly become an entertaining wrestling product. With some fairly decent technical wrestling matches, gimmicks, and storylines, TNA is in a way crawling it’s way back up to the top, and we can thank Matt Hardy for one as part of the reason.

I know TNA still has that whole “Former WWE guys” stigma, but it’s always great seeing these guys give a damn enough to change up their gimmicks. There’s actually a handful of former WWE stars in TNA who have successfully accomplished this, and there’s also guys who are nothing but carbon copies of their WWE/etc gimmicks and it’s awful, Matt Hardy is definitely the former. Originally using a gimmick that was a bit of a play on his ROH gimmick in “Big Money” Matt, Hardy has gone through an albeit comical, but still fantastically entertaining evolution.

From the ashes of “Big Money” Matt, comes “Broken” Matt Hardy, a gimmick in which Matt plays a mentally unstable sibling hating lunatic in what is perhaps the greatest Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy storyline of all time. With a channeling of Hannibal Lector and God knows what else, the former TNA World Champion has found a respectable creative groove, and citing he doesn’t change gimmicks (again), Matt could be providing us some entertainment for years to come. Yes people are laughing at TNA for “Broken” Matt Hardy, but this time it’s for the right reasons.
