When DC Comics & Warner Bros. announced plans to begin a shared film universe (starting with Man of Steel) to compete with Marvel’s highly successful MCU fans were a little disappointed that there would be no continuity with it’s upcoming shared TV universe. Arrow star Stephen Amell made headlines last year when he (accidentally perhaps) let it slip that DC has plans for a TV version of Justice League after fan outcry when it was revealed that Grant Austin (The Flash) and himself wouldn’t be reprising their titular roles in the upcoming film universe.

Per Comic Book Resources a direct quote from Amell during Fan Expo Canada 2014:

“We are creating a Justice League on TV for us. I don’t think there is a logistical reality to us participating in the feature side. That being said, I never wanted to have to feel like the show was justified, just because we participated in the movie. I don’t think my character would participate on the cinematic side.”

“What’s that saying… six seasons and a movie? Our show right now has me, Arsenal, Flash. There’s going to be Firestorm and Atom. The Justice League elements of it are very present on our shows already.”

While Amell could have just been speaking out of context, it seems WB is indeed preparing for The Justice League on TV. With Arrow & The Flash already crossing over, and confirmation of the upcoming team up spinoff starring Atom (and possibly featuring Static or Cyborg) & CBS’s Supergirl being apart of the Arrow/Flash Universe, not to mention the upcoming Vixen series on CW Seed, it seems that WB has big plans for its TV division as far as DC is concerned.

With other upcoming DC shows such as Young Justice, Teen Titans,  Static, and the consistent tease of Green Lantern, it certainly looks as though the Justice League isn’t too far way from becoming a full-time TV event. And with the consistent teases during episodes of The Flash it looks even more concrete that Justice League wll have a big presence on TV in the future.
