Fairy Tail part twenty-one continues the excellent Demons of Tartaros arc of the 2014 anime series. This time Natsu and co brings the fight to Zeref and his Tartaros demons after one of the latter forces Elfman to destroy the Fairy Tal guild in order to save his sisters from death.
Fairy Tail is an 2009 shounen anime series, it is produced by A-1 Pictures and licensed by Funimation. It is currently available on DVD and Blu-Ray in English.
Fairy Tail Part 21 continues exactly where part 20’s twist left off, with Elfman making a decision to choose between Fairy Tail and his sisters. Being threatened with the latter’s life he must use a dark lacrima to destroy the guild, this directly leads us to the already ongoing battle between Fairy Tail and The Demons of Tartaros.
THE GOOD: The Tartaros arc is nothing but straight business, which is always great to see when a canon arc gets animated. Action sequences are pretty entertaining in this set, and things get a little darker with some mental and physical torture seen in a couple of episodes. The Tartaras arc is fairly long and takes us towards the end of the 2014 series.
THE BAD: A lot of moments felt a little rushed and didn’t really give much of a pay off and satisfying ending. This set only being 12 episodes long and bringing things to an abrupt halt before the release of Part 22 doesn’t exactly help things much either for that matter.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Fairy Tail Part 21 is an effort that continues the Fairy Tail canon being adapted within the anime. Unfortunately, due to the limited number of episodes a lot feels a bit unfinished or unsatisfying as far as resolving certain storylines goes. Otaku Dome gives Fairy Tail Part 21 an 75 out of 100.
