Ridley Scott’s Alien returns in a new blu-ray set celebrating it’s 30 year anniversary. This new Blu-Ray set comes with a blu-ray & digital HD copy of the film, as well as a ton of other extras to send the biggest Alien fan home happy. These new extras include a new documentary, collectible cards, and more.
Alien is an 1979 science-fiction film, it is directed by Ridley Scott and produced by 20th Century FOX. It is currently available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD Digital.
A classic in the scifi/horror genre, Alien is a iconic film about a group of astronauts stuck on a ship trying to avoid a killer creature who stalks them in the dark. While stuck on the Nostromo, the crew experience death, danger, and betrayal.
THE GOOD: If you for some reason have yet to see the film, Alien’s 30th Anniversary Edition is a great start into the franchise. Featuring new commentary, a brand new documentary, and some pre and post production information, newcomers will have an easier time than ever to get into the long-running film franchise.
THE BAD: There’s no new disc used for this set, so those who own the Anthology collection will have familiar vibes here. The documentary being a digital download is a bit of a bummer.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: While the Alien 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray set feels a tad been there, done that, it’s perfect for those looking to into the franchise for the very first time. The new features make the set worth it for the long haul, and long time fans have a reason to add on another set to their collection. No new disc and the documentary being digital is really disheartening however. Otaku Dome gives the Alien 30th Anniversary Set an 78 out of 100.
one of the all time classic cult movies looking forward to watching the blue ray
